Helping you prepare for work and find a job

Are you unemployed, new to Canada, or looking to make a career change? Tropicana’s Integrated Employment Services (IES) program is here to support you. We offer free employment support to help you gain the skills, tools, and confidence you need to find and keep a job.

This program is part of Ontario’s new model for delivering employment services. It brings together job seekers, employers, and community services to better meet your needs, especially if you’re facing barriers to employment.

Whether you’re a newcomer, out of school, looking for your first job, or returning to the workforce, our team is here to help.

What this program offers:

  • One-on-one support with your job search.
  • Personalized employment coaching to help you prepare for the workplace.
  • Information about careers, industries, and the local labour market.
  • Continued support even after you’ve started working.
  • Resources that match your goals:
    • Resume writing.
    • Interview practice.
    • Job application tips.
    • Referrals to community services, training, and education.

Eligibility

You may qualify for this program if you are:

  • Of legal working age (15 years old and older). Individuals who are between the ages of 15-18 must be legally excused from school
  • A resident of Ontario
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or newcomer with a valid work permit
  • Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week

Please note Tropicana’s Employment Centre programs and services are available to residents of Ontario, Canadian citizens, permanent residents, convention refugees and refugee claimants with a valid work permit. Clients must be out of school/out of work or only working or studying part-time and not registered currently with any other community employment centre.

Languages Offered

Employment services are available in:

English, Spanish, Somali, Swahili, Twi, Cantonese, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, and Sinhala.
