Tropicana provides safe and free transitional housing and support for women aged 16+ and their dependents, who have experienced abuse by partners or significant others (including caregivers, family members, or household members), to help them connect with community resources and access safe housing. Services use a strength-based approach to maximize their capacity to live free of abuse and prevent revictimization.
Tropicana’s housing and support services are delivered in person, by phone, or virtually. Services include:
- Developing transition and safety plans.
- Information sharing and advocacy on rights, options, and available services.
- Referrals to appropriate services, including:
- Parenting support.
- Educational upgrade.
- Job training/employment.
- Income support & food security.
- Health and wellness.
- Accompaniment to access resources.
