Are you a racialized youth aged 18 to 29 and looking to start your career, but don’t feel quite ready for the workforce? If you haven’t worked in the past 6 months or are entering the job market for the first time, Preparation for Integrated Employment Services (Prep IES) is here to help.

What is Prep IES?

Prep IES is a free, 4-week in-person job integration program in the GTA designed to help you build confidence, develop essential workplace skills, and prepare for long-term employment.

Who is the Prep IES program for?

Tropicana’s job integration program is a free job integration program designed for racialized youth aged 18-29 in the GTA who are:

• New to the workforce
• Unemployed for 6 months
• Looking to build confidence and job-readiness skills

You will learn and develop new skills.

• How to handle workplace conflict and build emotional intelligence
• Communication skills and team dynamics
• Problem-solving and decision-making on the job
• Goal setting and personal career strategies

How does the Prep IES Program work?

Through interactive workshops, team building, and one-on-one coaching, you’ll gain the tools you need to succeed on the job—and beyond.

• Location: 505 Consumers Road, Suite 102, North York, ON M2J 4V8
• Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET

Prep IES 2025 sessions:

• October 27 to November 21

Space is limited to 20 participants per session

By the end of the program, you’ll feel more confident, capable, and ready to transition into Tropicana’s Integrated Employment Services (IES)—where you can connect directly with job opportunities.

Please note Tropicana’s Employment Centre programs and services are available to residents of Ontario, Canadian citizens, permanent residents, convention refugees and refugee claimants with a valid work permit. Clients must be out of school/out of work or only working or studying part-time and not registered currently with any other community employment centre.
